Granola Integration
Connect Granola to Brief to extract research signals and customer insights from AI-powered meeting notes.
Granola provides AI-powered meeting notes with high-quality transcription. Brief extracts research signals from your Granola calls to build customer understanding.
What data does Brief extract?
- Meeting Notes — Granola's AI-generated meeting summaries
- Transcripts — Full conversation content
- Research Signals — Customer pain points, feature requests, sentiment
- Key Quotes — Notable customer statements for persona enrichment
Why should I connect Granola to Brief?
Customer Research
Extract themes from sales calls, support calls, and user interviews automatically.
Privacy-First Design
Raw transcripts stay private to you. Your team sees aggregated insights (themes, trends, quotes) — never the full content.
Simple OAuth Setup
One-click OAuth connection — no API keys or webhooks to configure.
How do I set up this integration?
Initial sync: 1-2 minutes
Updates: Polling
Steps
- Go to Integrations in Brief
- Find Granola and click Connect
- Authorize Brief in Granola's OAuth flow
- Review privacy settings — Brief shows you what data it will access and confirms that raw transcripts stay private
- Click Connect to confirm, or "Don't analyze my calls" to connect without analyzing call content (you can enable analysis later from Settings)
- Done! Brief starts syncing your meeting notes
What happens after I connect?
After connecting:
- Privacy confirmation — Brief shows what data will be shared and privacy guarantees
- Initial sync — Brief fetches recent meeting notes (1-2 minutes)
- Research extraction — AI agents analyze notes for themes and signals (skipped if you chose "Don't analyze my calls")
- Continuous sync — New notes are synced automatically
If you chose "Don't analyze my calls", Brief will sync your meeting metadata (titles, dates, attendees) but won't extract research signals or analyze content. You can enable analysis later from Settings → Integrations → Granola.
Privacy Guarantees
Granola is a call recording integration, so Brief applies extra privacy protections:
- Your transcripts stay private — Raw transcripts are only accessible to you. Your team won't see full conversation text.
- Aggregated insights for your team — Brief extracts themes, trends, and key quotes — never the full content.
- You control access — Disconnect or adjust permissions at any time from Settings.
Common Issues
"No notes synced"
Cause: Granola hasn't recorded any meetings yet Fix: Ensure Granola is running and recording meetings. Check that you have recent notes in Granola.
"No research signals extracted"
Cause: Notes are too short or lack customer conversation Fix: Brief works best with customer-facing calls (sales, support, interviews). Internal team meetings may not generate research signals.
"Setup session expired"
Cause: Too much time passed between OAuth and confirming setup Fix: Go back to Integrations, disconnect Granola, and reconnect.
