How do I set up this integration?

Steps

1. Go to Integrations in Brief
2. Find Fathom and click Connect
3. Authorize Brief in Fathom's OAuth flow
4. Review privacy settings — Brief shows what data it will access and confirms raw transcripts stay private
5. Personal plan: Click Connect to confirm, or "Don't analyze my calls" to skip
6. Team plan: Select which teams' recordings Brief can access, then click Connect
7. Done! Brief starts syncing

No API keys or webhooks — just OAuth and a quick privacy confirmation.

What happens after I connect?

After connecting:

1. Privacy confirmation — Brief shows what data will be shared and privacy guarantees
2. Initial sync — Brief fetches recent recordings (1-2 minutes)
3. Research extraction — AI agents analyze transcripts for themes
4. Webhook registration — Brief subscribes to new recordings

Common Issues

"No calls synced"

Cause: Fathom hasn't recorded any meetings yet Fix: Ensure Fathom is recording meetings (not just scheduled). Check Fathom settings to enable recording for all meetings.

"Missing transcripts"

Cause: Fathom subscription doesn't include transcription Fix: Check your Fathom subscription plan. Some plans only record video without transcription.

"No research signals extracted"

Cause: Transcripts are too short or lack customer conversation Fix: Brief works best with customer-facing calls (sales, support, interviews). Internal team meetings may not generate research signals.
